Two fibre fields, one cloth
The listing gives the blend twice and the two lines do not look alike: 72% cotton with 28% Sorona, and 72% cotton with 28% polyester. They agree once you know what Sorona is — a PTT polyester made partly from plant-derived PDO, sold under that trade name. We print both figures and the reconcile, rather than choosing the one that sounds like a natural fibre.
210 g of piqué
The maker leads with the weight of the cloth, which is the right thing to lead with. A piqué under 180 g collapses at the collar within a season; at 210 g the collar stands and the placket keeps an edge. It is the difference between a polo that reads like a shirt and one that reads like a t-shirt with buttons.
Ten colourways, five sizes
Natural white and black anchor it, and the eight between them run from haze blue and khaki grey to fruit green and sapphire blue. Care
- Machine washable — the maker lists 可机洗 — but keep it cold and turn it inside out, because piqué pills against itself in a warm drum.
- Dry on the line rather than flat: the weight of the wet cloth is what pulls a knitted polo out of shape.
- Cool iron the collar from the underside. Pressing the face of a piqué flattens the texture that is the point of it.
