It is the sleeve
A lace top lives or dies on one detail, and here it is the cuff. The sleeve runs narrow to the elbow and then opens into a wide flare that finishes past the wrist bone — cut so it breaks over the sleeve of a jacket rather than fighting it, and so the lace pattern is seen at its largest, where the fabric is least stretched. The small stand collar does the same job at the other end: it closes the neckline without a placket or a button, which keeps the whole garment flat under a coat. If you are choosing between this and a plain lace layering top, the honest answer is that they are two different pieces — that one disappears into a look, this one is the look.
Six colourways, and a second piece from the same maker
Black, white, lotus pink, apricot, powder blue and wine red, in five sizes from S to XXL.
