The Story

Why this object exists

The strap at the top

A belt strap buckled across the top of the shaft is the one detail that separates a riding boot from a plain knee-high, and it is doing real work here. On the frames where the boot is worn pulled up it sits at the very top of the shaft, just under the knee. On the frames where the boot is worn down — 07 and 08 — the same strap has travelled to the ankle, because the shaft has folded over it. That is the second way to wear it and the reason the strap is a belt rather than a fixed buckle: it is meant to be let out and taken in.

Two heel heights, both actually sold

The headline says 粗跟8CM. The attribute table files 中跟(3-5CM). Read only those two lines and the listing looks like it contradicts itself. The SKUs resolve it: the colours are filed as 黑色【8cm】, 棕色【8cm】, 白色【8cm】, 黑色【5cm】, 棕色【5cm】 and 白色【5cm】. There is a 5 cm build and an 8 cm build, in all three colours, and the attribute field simply describes the shorter one. That is worth more than it sounds — most listings on this platform publish a single heel figure and one photograph, and a stockist has to guess what a second size run would mean. Here the two heights are both real, both photographed on the same last, and both available.

Cut to fold

穿着方式 is filed as 套筒/套鞋 — pull-on, no zip, no lace, no elastic gusset. A knee-high boot with no fastening has to be wide enough at the top to pass the foot through, and a shaft that wide will not stand up on its own. So it folds. What looks like a slouch in the photographs is the consequence of how the boot is built rather than a styling trick, and it means the shaft will keep folding wherever it is stored rather than creasing in one place.

Actually, why this one?

Why We Chose It

Because this is the silhouette the season actually moved to — a buckled knee-high with a shaft that folds — and because the maker files the upper and the shaft both as 二层牛皮 instead of writing 真皮 and leaving the field blank. And because the one thing that reads as a contradiction in the listing turns out to be a choice it really sells: a 5 cm and an 8 cm heel, in all three colours, filed in the SKUs rather than buried.

Not everything. Only what’s worth owning.

Care

  • Split-grain cowhide takes a scuff more visibly than a top grain does, and a knee-high boot collects them at the ankle where the shaft folds. A neutral cream polish worked in with a cloth, rather than a brush, brings it back.
  • Microfibre shaft lining does not breathe the way the leather insole does. Air the boots between wears rather than storing them folded against each other.
  • The maker publishes no care symbol and no waterproofing claim for this boot. Ask before retailing it — that is a quote question, not something to read off the photographs.

Packaging and presentation are confirmed in your written quote.
